Access Ramp

Access ramp for rear playground

We are very excited to share the news with our parents and carers that over the summer holidays there will be a major building project to install an access ramp to the rear playground.

We are very aware that wheelchair and pushchair access to the rear playground is currently difficult and that it is a long way round to use the ramp by the Reception playground, so this will be a big improvement.  It will also mean that the access by the side of the building is wide enough all the way along.

The new ramp will go from the entrance by the main office to the top playground, alongside the main car park, with a fence on either side.  There will be a new gate at the top by the playground, which is where parents/carers will buzz for the Ozzie's buildings and Kangaroo Kids so this will be an improvement for our access arrangements from a safeguarding perspective too.

We have been working hard on this project over the last 2 years and we are very fortunate that we have finally been awarded capital funding by the Diocese to cover the majority of the cost.  We have been successful because the project has been deemed a high priority because of the improvements to access and safeguarding.  The total project will cost £91,000, which reflects the significant amount of work that needs to be undertaken.

Work will begin in the first week of the summer holidays and will be completed before the start of term, so that the new access will be in place when the children return in September.

Over the summer, there will be no access via the main entrance by the office. Ozzie's will access will be via the front door as normal.

Please contact our Business Manager, Natasha Conway via the office email if you have any questions on this.
