The next Parents and Friends Group event is “Race Night” from 7.30pm on Friday 24th March, we've hired the upstairs of Hawkhill Social Club. Why not come and enjoy a drink with friends at the bar while placing a bet on a horse race (randomly chosen from a dvd) to see if you could win. Tickets are £2 and any proceeds will go to the Parents and Friends Group. When we've finished investigating the options we'll choose whether to spend any proceeds on either the trim trail, enrichment activities or wet playtime activities. Please come along and support us and have a drink.

Parents’ Group Funds

As a body of parents, led by our wonderful Parents’ & Friends’ Group, you raise significant sums of money each year through a wide range of Parents’ Group activities. The purpose of this money is to help the school provide resources and activities, above and beyond the usual, to benefit all the children at St Oswald’s. Money has been used in the past, for example, to help purchase iPads, to help refit the school Library, to support trips and enrichment activities in school, to name just a few. The funds help us to provide a rich, broad, high quality school experience for the children. We are aware of the hard work many parents put in to raise this money and so we want to give parents, as well as staff, the opportunity to suggest ways in which this money is used. Attached to this newsletter mailing is a proposal form for parents to complete if you have a great idea for how some of this money can be spent. Completed forms should be returned to the school office or by Monday 20th February. I will then meet with representatives of the Parents’ Group to choose which of these ideas to use. It is very unlikely we will be able to process all the ideas, but we will keep you informed as the process progresses.
