Miss Golden, Family & Inclusion Leader

Miss Linda Golden – Family and Inclusion Leader

Miss Golden is trained to offer parental support to families who require advice and help. Several times a year, Miss Golden runs Family Caring Trust parenting courses to local parents. She is available to speak to on the phone or to meet with face to face.  With a good knowledge of support available through Aireborough Extended Services and elsewhere, Miss Golden can signpost parents to other agencies that may be able to offer help and support. She is a designated member of staff for Child Protection, is CAF trained (Early Help Plan) and has completed Multi-Agency training. Miss Golden works hard to improve the attendance of children at our school. If you need any support in the following areas, Miss Golden can help you:

  • Routines at home
  • Behaviour
  • Signposting to agencies
  • Advice about mental health in children and adults
  • Housing
  • Benefits
  • Improving attendance
  • Transition of children between school settings
  • Homework

Mrs Jana Batty – Pastoral Mentor

Mrs Batty works alongside Miss Golden to remove the barriers to learning for children.  She runs a wide range of pastoral support groups for children which usually take place each week.  Mrs Batty runs many groups to help our children with a range of issues and problems, these groups are designed to support and encourage the social development of children.  They are given the opportunity to explore different concepts around social development, these include:

  • Friendship
  • Social skills
  • Self- esteem
  • Motivation
  • Behaviour and anger management
  • Turn-taking and listening
  • Transition groups to help vulnerable children move successfully to and from our school
  • 1:1 sessions with children where necessary

These groups are done through a combination of games, discussion, crafts and group work.  The groups are designed to be fun and give children the opportunity to express their thoughts and feelings in a warm and supportive atmosphere.
